Garden Time is a magical way to join our program. The garden offers many learning opportunities! There is lots of room to run, swing, climb, plant, watch, dig, wash, laugh, squeal, sing, jump, create, and get dirty! Each child is self directed. There is a basic format but the experience is relaxed and respectful of the children's needs and passions. All the boots, rain pants and rain jackets are provided and maintained by our program. Garden Time is for children 18 month - 5 + years.
Family Garden Visit is an hour long visit, for just your family, Teacher Lin will host exploration and play in the garden, along with a light organic snack with herbal tea. This is a wonderful way to get to know our program or have a talk about little one or gardening topics.
Family Garden Time happens on weekend mornings 10 - 11:30 am. Reserve one or more dates to bring your whole family to our garden! Enjoy the time and space! Relax or tend to garden work! Teacher will provide tea, a puppet play, host the garden activities and share a garden treat with each child. 2 - 5 families will participate in a Family Garden Time.
Play Class is a wonderful way to explore our inside play space and enjoy the rich experience of a parent and child gathering with Teacher Lin. During the play time, we allow everyone to settle in, explore, and observe. Then there is a time to share thoughts about the class experience or current themes related to caring for the young members in our group. Nursery rhyme singing and snack time are apart of every play class. This is a parent a child class for children in infancy - 18 months.
Cooking Class is a fun way to meet new friends and enjoy a child friendly meal. Slow cooking is our program's way! Mamas and teacher prepare a component of our program menu and then everyone can try the food! The children play and help with the cooking as they have interest. This is a super fun and special time that often inspires some new food exploration with flavors and even self feeding skills.
Nature Hike is a nice way to take a stroll with Teacher and enjoy the wonderful earthen paths in Golden Gate Park. Teacher will meet the adult attendants and little ones in the meadow at 25th Ave and Lincoln Way for most walk days. Meeting in the meadow allows for frolic and fun while the group of 2-6 children, and their adults, gather and transition into nature. This is a fun time to share with impromptu singing and games. Then, the group is off for a walk! While strollers are doable on the earthen paths, allowing the little ones to walk is highly encouraged! This will allow exploration and exercise, which is just one of the many physical benefits of going for a walk in the woods! This activity is two hours in length.
